Santaquin Fire & EMS invites families to a free Fire Prevention Open House on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, starting at 6:00 PM, featuring the ceremonial push-in of the department's new Pierce Ladder truck, Truck 141, which proudly carries the name of Sgt. Bill Hooser in honor of his service and sacrifice to the Santaquin community. This special fire department tradition—where firefighters work together to push a brand-new fire truck into its station for the first time—will be followed by an evening of exciting activities, including a LifeFlight helicopter landing and static display where visitors can meet the crew, a live forcible-entry demonstration using the department's new training prop, ambulance and apparatus displays, a live vehicle extrication demonstration on a donated car, hands-only CPR demonstrations with members of the EMS crew, and smoke alarm safety education to help keep families safe. Local elementary school students will also be recognized as coloring contest winners during the event, with coloring sheets distributed to schools beforehand. Community members of all ages are encouraged to come meet their firefighters, see the equipment up close, learn about fire safety, and enjoy a fun evening together—embodying Santaquin Fire & EMS's commitment to "Unified Excellence in Service."
